This page contains some basic information about creating an account, logging in, setting and changing your basic information and so on. It may also contain links to quick start pages or tutorials covering the search and other basic tools.

To create an account at OpenHelix, click on the "Create an Account" button on the upper right corner of the screen. You will be prompted for a Login id which can be your email address or any other memorable ID. You will have an opportunity to check to make sure your desired Login ID is available.

You will be asked to create a password and fill out a simple webform with some basic information. Required fields are marked with an asterisk. If you have an institutional account you will either be able to log in exactly the same as an individual or you may be prompted for a group number you have received from your institution.

Once you have completed the form you can proceed to the login page. You will receive an email confirming your account. Please follow the link and instructions to fully activate your account and verify your email address. You will not be able to login until your email address is verified.

Once you have verified your email, you should see the bar at the top right has changed. You now have a link to "your subscriptions" "personal data"--where you can update your information and an option to logout.
